Self-Parenting
“We never know the love of a parent until we become parents ourselves.”
Before my marriage, I was like a butterfly. I just flew around and never felt the family burden. Once I lost my dad, I came to know all the difficulties. I learnt a lot of lessons within six months. Many relatives came forward and helped us till I got married. I left my passion able job. I gave up due to family pressure.
By God’s grace and my dad’s blessing, I have a very good family. I am blessed with three precious gifts. They are a lovable husband and two lovely gems (a daughter and a son). First, I too faced many difficulties as a new parent, like others do. Later on, I focused well and set my mind to face the challenges. I made up my mind and prepared well for raising children in the 21st century. Montessori training also helped me a lot. I took care of every step in the growth of my children.
Many would say that parenting is not as easy as we think. But I assure you that if you love parenting, it is much easier. I just taught them simple things, like how to do all their work independently. Freedom from parents with some control will help children grow happily under control. Now I’m so happy that they are able to do their work on their own. They even came forward to help me.
Simple steps I followed with my children:
- True love and care towards them made them feel comfortable.
- Proper instruction with positive and negative things.
- Allow them to do their work.
- Last but not least, follow the Montessori method of growing.
Thanks to Maria Montessori.
