Happy Classrooms

A happy classroom is every teacher’s dream! A happy classroom makes a safe environment for both teachers and students. All our efforts are aimed at creating a happy classroom environment. We implement various practices, like one-minute reading and starter activities that promote physical, social and emotional skills of the students and capture their attention early. We, teachers, set an example for students to follow and model their behaviour.
We build a positive rapport with the students and try to address their sincere concerns privately. We don’t believe in talking to a student in public, which may make things worse.  The idea is to be there for our students as a beacon of hope when they need us. When students feel that we care for them, they will be more willing to listen to what we say. When we play ‘fair’, respect and treat everyone equally, students feel secure and comfortable. ‘Teacher is a good listener rather than a speaker’. Thus, we ensure we give our students undivided attention and hear them out, which directs them in the right direction. When a teacher expresses his/her expectations for the class, students tend to meet the expectations positively, thereby jointly creating a happy classroom.
We know the students as individuals and help them explore their interests. We provide a collaborative, multi-faceted learning experience with the peers of different interests working together as comrades. What brings a smile to a teacher’s face is going an extra mile for the students and watching them flourish in their academic endeavors. When we roll out assignments, the instructions should be constructive and
communicated properly.  We should never forget to appreciate and encourage the student for every step they take. The key is to celebrate every single milestone and small accomplishments.  Hence, investing some time to get to know the students and providing the right learning opportunity will help create happy classrooms.
We plan the lessons in such a way that the delivery invokes joy and a cheerful atmosphere in the classes. Every module has interesting elements that students rejoice when presented in the right way. We have cherished the joyful learning of the students when they reciprocate in the form of various follow-up activities.
Keeping up a positive attitude in recognizing the good work of every student is essential.  Praises bring smiles, they are good ways to make them happy. Kind words motivate them and simple appreciations build trust in them. The teachers who use this tool of appreciation, for sure, create happy classrooms.
We create an environment of learning by doing, as we follow the Montessori method of teaching. Teachers play the role of facilitators and give ample scope for student-centric classrooms. We make sure that we focus on thrills, entertainment and fun in all our class activities.
