Montessori

It is based on self-directed activities, hands-on learning and collaborative play. In Montessori classrooms children make creative choices in their learning  while the teachers offer age appropriate activities to guide the process. Every material in the Montessori Classroom supports an aspect of a child’s development, creating a match between the child’s natural instincts and available activities. Children can learn through their own experience and at their own pace. They can respond at any moment to the natural curiosities that exist in all humans and build a foundation for lifelong learning.

Clubs

The journey through education is not solely about textbooks, classes and exams. While academic achievement is a crucial aspect of a student’s life, it is equally essential to strike a balance by incorporating extra curricular activities into your daily routine. Often seen as a “fun” pursuit outside the classroom, these activities play a pivotal role in personal growth, skill development and overall well being. The clubs provide opportunities for children to participate in activities and interact with peers who have similar interests. The  autonomy of clubs also appeals to students which provides motivation as well as opportunities to expand skills in different horizons of every club.

No Bag Day

Every Friday/Saturday  of the week is a No Bag Day at MGG-CIE. A day where students do not carry their bags or books to school. The day’s schedule remains the same and the subjects  for the day are taught through interactive exercises, experimentation , quizzes, project work, research, etc. It also enhances the learning experience as what they learn on this day through different pedagogy  leave a deep  impression on their minds.

Participation in Olympiads

Participating in Academic Olympiads can be a significant and distinguishing aspect of a student’s profile showing exceptional proficiency in specific subjects. Participation offers opportunities to delve into advanced areas beyond the standard curriculum, fostering a deeper understanding of their chosen subjects. Our commitment to nurturing critical thinking, creativity and analysis closely resonates with the principles upheld by Olympiad Competitions.

Drama Festival

Students participating in the Drama Festival of our school develop their self-confidence, which is brought about by their awareness that their success is directly connected to their effort. Moreover, while constantly working to improve their initial performance, they train to acquire the four meta-competencies: learning, adapting, anticipating and creating change, which are of paramount importance for the unpredictable future of the ever-changing world we live in. Students making up the school audience also boost their self-esteem when they realise that their voice is heard,  their advice is valuable and makes a difference. The teacher – student relation becomes stronger as teachers, too, feel this undertaking contributes to their own personal and professional growth. The venture of preparing for and taking part in  the drama festival brings about a sense of joy and accomplishment to all the participants involved in the process: teachers, students, parents and the local community. 

Art Expo

Exhibitions set the expectation that all students, not just a select group, are capable of producing high-quality work and will share that work with people beyond their classroom. They motivate all students to do their best, so they can stand proudly beside their work.

Carnivals

There’s nothing like a high-energy atmosphere to bring people together. With thrilling rides and games, a carnival provides an exciting setting for people to gather. That’s why carnivals are perfect for a neighbourhood or community event! 

Charity

Community service projects are a win-win situation. In the wise words of Mahatma Gandhi: “The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.”

Student Exchange

 It is through the International Exchange programmes that the school emboldens students to discover new ways of adaptability and learning to be able to be a part of the global world. Students develop adaptability to embrace foreign cultures and promote liberal-mindedness. It facilitates students  to  accept and understand the world that is a cauldron of composite cultures and community perspectives.

Sports Day  

We love the fact we have cycled back to the concept of ‘a healthy body and healthy mind’. The act of being active is a critical part of our work with students, enabling us to support them in enhancing their well-being and fostering a lifelong commitment to physical activity.

Participation in Culturals serves as a powerful tool to embrace and appreciate the remarkable diversity of our country. By engaging young people in the customs, traditions, languages, and art forms of various cultures, we foster open-mindedness, empathy and prepare them for a global perspective. This exposure enhances their understanding of the world. It prepares them to respect and value the diversity they encounter daily. Together, we can build a society that celebrates and cherishes the diversity that makes us all unique.

Heritage Walks 

Heritage Walks aim to connect people with the past, bringing history to life through storytelling and exploration. They highlight ancient monuments, significant buildings, architectural marvels and places of cultural importance.

Value Camps

Value Camps provides children with a community of caring adults who nurture experiential education that results in self-respect and appreciation for human values . All of the outcomes — self-identity, self-worth, self-esteem, leadership and self-respect — build personal competencies. These competencies are reflected in the four “C’s” of the camp community: compassion, contribution, commitment and character! For years, the  parents have reported that when their children return home from camp they are more caring, understand the importance of giving, are more equipped to stand up for what they know is right and are willing to be more responsible adults.

Graduation Ceremony 

The history of graduation dates back to the 12th century and the ceremonies are strongly valued in many families and communities. It is safe to say that graduation means a time-honoured tradition that holds immense importance in students’ and their families’ lives. The answer to “What is graduation ceremony?” is about the culmination of their academic journey and marks the beginning of a new chapter in their lives. It is a day of celebration, reflection, and gratitude that graduates will cherish for years to come.

Lighting Ceremony 

Shubham karoti kalyaanam aarogyam dhanasampadaha; Shatru buddhi Vinashaya, deepajyotih namostute” which means “I salute the Supreme who is the light in the lamp that brings auspiciousness, prosperity, good health, abundance of wealth and the destruction of intellect’s enemy.” At the very core of the lamp lighting ceremony’s significance lies the belief that the illumination, which is brought about by a diya will encourage positivity , radiance and provide abundance of confidence. The flames emanating from the lamp are a symbol of knowledge and illumination which is the kind of energy that one wishes to attract before beginning something auspicious and important.
