Mahatma, as an idea that took shape in 1983, has been a pioneer in humanising education, where our learners own the knowledge and skills acquired, and call it to use. Our student-centred approach recognises each learner as a unique individual with unique qualities and needs. Hence, we firmly believe in consistently identifying and processing the requirements while creating accomplished individuals.

Mahatma was established by Mrs. Premalatha Panneerselvam and Mr. Panneerselvam at Renga Bhavan.
The school moved into its own facility at Gopalakrishnan Grounds, K. K. Nagar.
The demand for a good residential school and the growing demand for quality education led to the birth of Mahatma Residential School, located at the foothills of Alagarkovil, 20 km away from Madurai.
Our second day school was established at Surveyor Colony, Madurai (Mahatma Baba Building).
Mahatma Montessori School was the first private school affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi, in Madurai.
Mahatma Global Gateway, affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi, was established in Veerapanjan, Madurai, to pave the path of empowering students in becoming global citizens.
Mahatma Global Gateway, affiliated to Cambridge International Education, United Kingdom (UK), was established to follow the world-renowned Cambridge International Curriculum.
Mahatma Montessori School, affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi, was established at Alagarkovil, Madurai, that serves day scholars (boys & girls) and residential boys as well.
