Embracing Positivity and Passion in Teaching and Life
I began my teaching career at age 18. From the beginning, I have believed in maintaining a positive outlook and viewing challenges as opportunities for growth. I’ve taught students from Standard II to XII and have also served as a Head Mistress in a private school. Despite earning 111 certificates in various fields and achieving many milestones at a young age, my eagerness to learn continues. I love my job and approach every task with enthusiasm. When people ask how I stay so happy, I attribute it to my sincere work ethic and a positive mindset. Avvaiyar’s quote, “Katrathu Kai Mann Alavu, Kallathathu Ulaga Alavu” (What you have learnt is a mere handful; What you haven’t learnt is the size of the world), serves as a constant source of inspiration for me.
I share this positive mindset with my friends and relatives, showing them that positive thinking fosters happiness both professionally and personally. Helping others and working with joy bring a deep sense of fulfilment. My colleagues, friends, and relatives are well aware of my approach. I often advise them to focus on positivity and avoid negativity, as negativity tends to diminish naturally when not engaged with.
Recently, I was advised to undergo immediate surgery, but the issue resolved itself before the procedure. The doctors considered it a miracle, likely due to my positive attitude. This reinforced my belief in the power of positivity.
A notable achievement in my career was the “Train The Trainer” seminar for Bosch in Bangalore, where I was the only participant from Tamil Nadu among 28 attendees. Initially, many questioned my abilities because I was a newcomer, but as I began presenting, their perceptions changed. By the end of the seminar, I received a round of applause and was honored as the first runner-up. Additionally, I was selected for further levels and became a MEPSC Skill Trainer. This success was the result of my passion
for the job and my positive attitude.
I avoid saying, ‘I don’t know.’ Instead, I approach new tasks with a commitment to learn and succeed. This mindset is my key to success.
I embrace these principles:
- “Perform your duties with genuine dedication, rather than merely fulfilling an obligation.”
- “Even if he is the king of Delhi, he remains just a child in his own home.”
This approach keeps me happy in all aspects of my life.
